Ruth Brinkley, president and CEO of KentuckyOne Health, has been named by Modern Healthcaremagazine as one of the “Top 25 Minority Executives in Healthcare.”
Brinkley, who has led KentuckyOne since January 2012, was last named to this list in 2010 when she was serving as president and CEO of Catholic health care system Cardondelet Health Network in Tucson, Ariz., as well as West Ministry market leader for its parent, Ascension Health.
She also recently was recognized among “130 Women Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know” by Becker’s Hospital Review.
Modern Healthcare, the only weekly national magazine covering the health care industry, reviewed nearly 170 nominations for the “Top Minority Executive” listing this year. Nominations were judged on the following criteria: Whether the candidate: successfully served as a leader or managed an organization or company; showed the ability or power to effect change in the health care industry; demonstrated a willingness to share expertise with others in the field; served as a role model or mentor to other minority health care executives; assumed a leadership position in the industry outside of the candidate’s own organization or company.
