Louisville and St. Louis payers win and lose in major Defense Health Agency Procurement

LOUISVILLE, KY. — Feb. 3, 2023 — Louisville-based Humana wins a $70 billion contract to serve the East region of the Defense Health Agency (care for active duty military) but loses 1.5 million members as the Defense Health Agency seeks to balance their East and West region membership. St. Louis-based Centene was not selected to continue managing the West region. They are being replaced by TriWest Healthcare Alliance of Phoenix.
