BioCrossroads, which works to advance Indiana’s signature strengths in the life sciences industry, released new statistics on the industry showing that Indiana was the top exporter of pharmaceuticals across the United States in 2022. BioCrossroads also shared that Indiana’s life sciences sector now boasts 2,700 companies with 63,000 employees generating over $77 billion in economic output. Large Indiana-based players in the sector include Cook Medical, Elanco Animal Health, Eli Lilly and Company and Zimmer Biomet, Indiana also serves as the North American headquarters location for several firms.
