The Kentucky Psychological Association is pleased to announce that it is now accepting applications for the 2014 Psychologically Healthy Workplace Awards. The awards recognize organizations that make a commitment to programs and policies that foster employee health and well-being while enhancing organizational performance and productivity.
“Employers are beginning to recognize the benefits of a positive work environment. Research shows that sensitivity to employees’ health and well-being is good for business,” says Dr. Lisa Willner, licensed psychologist and executive director of the Kentucky Psychological Association.
Previous winners of this award have been: BELL SOUTH; WEBER SHANDWICK; HOSPICE OF BLUEGRASS; TRANSIT AUTHORITY OF RIVER CITY; CENTRAL BAPTIST HOSPITAL;
REACH OF LOUISVILLE; APRISS, INC; and THE ROBLEX REX VA MEDICAL CENTER. Dr. Courtney Keim, PHWA Chair, noted “But there are many more companies out there who deserve to be recognized. We hope the organizations we honor can serve as models for other employers.”
Psychologically Healthy Workplaces encourage employee involvement, stress health and safety, seek to stimulate the growth and development of their employees, balance work and life as well as recognize employee contributions.
Nominations are being accepted in four categories: 1) Large for-profit, 2) Small not-for-profit, 3) Large not-for- profit and 4) Small not-for-profit.
