Barnes to serve as Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky board member

The Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky announces Mary Ann Barnes, M.D., of northern Kentucky, has been selected to serve on its 15-member Board of Directors. The Board is responsible for preserving the Foundation’s endowment and upholding its charitable mission of working to address the unmet health care needs of Kentuckians.

Dr. Barnes is the Assistant Director of the Family Practice Residency Program at St. Elizabeth Healthcare. She is director of Education at the University of Cincinnati’s Center of Integrative Medicine. Dr. Barnes is also certified by the Commonwealth of Kentucky for Domestic Violence Physician Education. She formerly practiced family medicine in Florence.

The Doctors Foundation, Northern Kentucky District Health Department Board and Northern Kentucky United Way Board of Trustees, are among the many professional and community organizations that have benefited from Dr. Barnes’s volunteer service.

Barnes obtained her undergraduate degree from Thomas More College and her medical degree from the University of Louisville. She is also a graduate of the Leadership Kentucky program.

Dr. Barnes and her husband live in Cold Spring. The couple has four children and two grandchildren.
