A joint announcement was made today that Highlands Health System will expand their range of cardiology services in collaboration with Pikeville Medical Center (PMC). PMC will provide general cardiology and diagnostic services at the Highlands Medical Office Building on the Highlands Regional Medical Center main campus.
“This agreement with Highlands will bring cardiology services closer to the people living in Prestonsburg, Floyd County and surrounding counties,” stated Walter E. May, President & CEO of Pikeville Medical Center. “We are pleased to add Highlands Regional Medical Center to the list of hospitals we are affiliated with like Cleveland Clinic in Ohio and Buchanan General Hospital in Grundy, Virginia.
Highlands, which offers a full range of cardiology services such as inpatient and outpatient diagnostics, nuclear medicine, cardiac rehab, stress testing, heart health education, and more, will now have more capabilities with the availability of PMC cardiologists on site.
Pikeville and Highlands developed the arrangement in an effort to broaden health services within the community. “Our goal is to provide our patients with the best care possible. We are continuing to do so through the expansion of our cardiology service line, and our relationship with Pikeville Medical Center” said Bud Warman, President & CEO of Highlands Health System.
Beginning April 1, patients will be seen at the office located on the 4th floor, suite 4102, of the Highlands Medical Office Building, 5000 Rt. 321 Prestonsburg.
