The Sleep Disorders Center at T.J. Samson Community Hospital recently received full accreditation of Out of Center Sleep Testing (OCST) from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).
American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) accreditation of Out of Center Sleep Testing (OCST) enables sleep professionals to offer broader options to patients, while demonstrating a commitment to quality diagnostic services. By achieving AASM accreditation, The Sleep Disorders Center at T.J. Samson Community Hospital is able to ensure that all patients receive the highest standards of quality care.
The OCST is a diagnostic test that is recognized by insurance providers, and is used to diagnose sleep apnea. According to the AASM there are currently only 15 accredited OCST providers in Kentucky. Since 1977, AASM accreditation has been the gold standard by which the medical community and the public evaluate sleep medicine services.
Bill Kindred, CEO of T.J. Samson Community Hospital states, “We are extremely proud of this outstanding accomplishment that our Sleep Disorders Center has achieved. This accreditation is just one more way T.J. continues to hold itself to the highest of standards, in an effort to provide excellent care for the patients that we serve.”
