Western Baptist recognizes its physicians on Doctors Day

Western Baptist Hospital will recognize its dedicated staff of 240 physicians, representing 40 medical specialties, on Doctors Day, March 30.

“We value the talented men and women who have chosen to practice at Western Baptist,” said Patrick Withrow, M.D., chief medical officer. “Their service to the hospital and to this community allows each of us to receive top-notch care close to home.”

Hospitalist John C. Hancock, M.D., chose last year to practice at Western Baptist.

“I rotated at Western Baptist and really enjoyed the time,” Dr. Hancock said. “I decided to choose Western Baptist over other area hospitals (because) coming home was the right fit for my wife and me. Everyone is easy going and helpful. It was like I never left.”

The first Doctors Day observance was March 30, 1933, in Winder,Ga.It is a day to celebrate the contribution of physicians who serve our country by caring for its citizens.
