Award recognizes healthcare system for exemplary use of care management software
Norton Healthcare has received the Quest for Quality Award from Morrisey Associates for exemplary use of Morrisey’s care management software. Norton Healthcare, a leading health care system in the Louisville region, received the award at Morrisey’s recent National User Group Meeting in Chicago, recognizing the health care system’s efforts to improve the quality and efficiency of its patient care.
Installing and learning new software at one hospital is challenging enough, let alone implementing these types of changes at five sites. That’s just what Norton Healthcare did last year when it introduced and configured the software to realize immediate benefits at go live at the health care system’s five Louisville acute care hospitals in December 2011.
The Web-based Morrisey Concurrent Care Manager™ (MCCM™) application enables hospitals to become more efficient, and improve quality and patient safety by automating patient care management processes.
“We’re honored to be selected by Morrisey for this prestigious quality award,” said Kathleen Exline, R.N., MSN, system director of care management and clinical effectiveness for Norton Healthcare. “The award underscores our commitment to providing quality patient care. The technology enables us to make a difference for our patients and families by focusing on safe, coordinated care that improves patient outcomes.”
Morrisey’s Quest for Quality award recognizes health care organizations and individuals who improve patient outcomes while using the company’s care management software.
“Norton Healthcare is an outstanding example of an organization that is driving performance improvements using MCCM,” said Mark Stowes, Morrisey’s marketing director. “Patients aren’t the only ones who benefit – the software saves hospital staff time and helps them work more efficiently.”
Morrisey’s applications automate work flow processes, enabling hospitals to provide quality care for more patients while reducing errors and achieving appropriate reimbursements from insurers.
Norton Healthcare also partnered with Morrisey to integrate detailed clinical information from patient electronic records into MCCM. Insurers typically require clinical details to make reimbursement decisions. Norton Healthcare also helped plan Morrisey’s National User Group Meeting and gave two presentations at the event.
Norton Healthcare has long been recognized as a quality leader in the health care industry. The health care system was the 2011 recipient of the prestigious National Quality Forum National Quality Healthcare Award, along with the 2011 Kentucky Hospital Association Quality Award.
